Virtual reality (VR) immerses you into an environment that simulates the real world or an imagined world, allowing you to interact in that world. To be honest words can just not describe... Just try it!

I'm not a gamer is virtual reality for me?

Definitely! VR is an amazing look in to the future of technology. Games aside we can transport you to the top of a mountain or to the sea floor. Alongside many incredible games we offer a range of creative arts, puzzles, team building, multi-player & storybook experiences.

TO BREAK IT DOWN... If you like movies, arts, adventures or general entertainment we guarantee you will have plenty to blow your mind & your socks off during your VR session at our studio!

*Parents often wish they would have brought along other family members but were unsure if the virtual reality studio would be a suitable choice for fun, creativity and entertainment. Who are you?

Jermaine Leef, Holly White, Shannon Leef & Robert Le Grice are the founders & part of the day to day operations at Virtual Reality Studio. Our ethos is to provide excellent service and introduce the NZ what will create the biggest impact from technology since the internet - Virtual Reality.

 Facilities include: 8x Virtual reality arcade style booths, a complimentary retro room with consoles/games from the 80's/90's & a museum of sorts with all things technology & gaming.

Do you have multiplayer games at Virtual Reality Studio?

SHORT ANSWER: YES

LONGER ANSWER: If you wish to play multiplayer we recommend a longer session time (110 mins). Most multiplayer games require a tutorial.. Once completed play your friends and family & yes, you will be able to communicate with them (through a built-in microphone). Be ready to embrace your competitive gaming spirit & see your friends’ actions performed by their chosen avatars!

I wear prescription glasses - do I need to take them off in VR?

Eye wear is able to fit inside while using the system. There are also adjustment knobs to configure the focus for each eye independently, and a separate adjustment knob to match the screen separation to your eyes.

If i die in the game do I die in real life?

Haha

Can I play more than one game during my session?

Of course you are free to play as many/ little as you wish!

Is there an age restriction?

Short answer: No, but we do recommend 6+

Every child reacts differently to VR, if you do have an under 6 year old please start with a time share so if it's not for them you can take turns!

What VR hardware do you provide?

Our Hardware of choice is the HTC Vive.

The HTC Vive is the premium, top of the pops equipment currently in the VR world - Only the best for our customers!

MORE: This Equipment is a specific brand of head-mounted display (HMD), controllers and tracking peripherals which allow the user to see and interact with the virtual environment. Infrared lasers and LEDs are tracked by each component, providing highly-accurate tracking capabilities to transfer your movement to your character in the game.

How early should I show up before my scheduled time?

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your booking, this way we can tutorial you prior to your precious game time & have you up and running so you can make the most of your booking!

What if I need to cancel my booking?

No problem! If you need to change/cancel your session please email us at: info@virtualrealitystudio.co.nz & remember we require a minimum of 48 hours notice for a full refund & 24 hours for a partial. :)

Footwear?

Please wear comfortable/ supportive shoes or clean socks whilst playing. STILETTO HEELS ARE NOT WELCOME!
